ENERGY EFFICIENCY ADVISORY COUNTER

Palilula Municipality will soon start the activities aiming at the incitement of broad apply of measures of energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources. According to Boban Dzunic, president of this City Municipality, the possibilities of opening new counter of advisory type – office for the citizens and businessmen from the territory of this municipality and wider, for the most important areas of energy efficiency in households and sector of small and medium enterprises SME and applying of sustainable energy sources SES which will in the end contribute only to better citizens life quality. In this way are opening new possibilities of saving energy resources in households as one of the most efficient ways of reducing energy poverty that became Serbian reality, possibilities of introduction of measures for life efficiency in construction sector, preserving life environment and our local contribution to global campaign against climate changes.

Palilula Municipality with attention is following the discussion in Serbian Parliament about the adoption of the Law on rational usage of energy. Preparations are in progress that our Municipality, among the first, goes with the introduction of energy management – says president of Municipality and in that way contribute to rational spending of energy resources in public sector.

With this we want to be an example of responsible local government to our citizens and other municipalities in the Region. We are making plans and analyses that, according to the models of public and private partnership and ESCO model, start also developmental component in this sphere on our territory, emphasizes Dzunic.

Palilula Municipality in the end of the last year in the cooperation with partner organizations (Construction cluster `Opeka Brik`, City of Nis – Administration for planning and construction, EKOPOLIS Media Ecological net of Serbia) successfully completed one year project `Development and improvement of increasing energy efficiency in construction` supported by LEDIB Programme (Local Economic Development Balkans). It empowered Municipal administration to improve with new project ideas the current state in this sector.
